Privacy Policy

Gararge ("we," "us") is a fuel-economy and vehicle-maintenance tracker. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

What we collect

• Account info: your email address, a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text), and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the identifier those services return.
• Profile: an optional display name and profile photo you choose to add.
• Your vehicle data: the vehicles, fill-ups, maintenance records, reminders, and tags you enter, plus any photos you attach to a fill-up or vehicle.

How we use it

• To provide the app: keep you signed in, store your garage, and compute your MPG, cost, and trends.
• Photo reading (OCR): when you snap a pump, receipt, or odometer, the image is sent to OpenAI's API to read the numbers (gallons, price, mileage) so we can fill the form for you. OpenAI processes the image to return that text and, per its API terms, does not use it to train its models. The photo you choose to keep is stored with your fill-up.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app:

• OpenAI - photo OCR, as described above.
• Google / Apple - only if you use their sign-in.
• DreamHost - our hosting provider, where your data is stored.

We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers.

Data retention & your choices

• Your data is kept until you delete it or ask us to delete your account.
• You can edit or delete any vehicle, fill-up, service, or reminder in the app at any time.
• To delete your entire account and all associated data, open Account in the app and tap Delete Account, or email us (below) and we will remove it.

Security

The app is served over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies.

Children

Gararge is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
